As an early stage, startup, we are dedicated to educating the community on product safety in the vaginal health market through - chemical safety, vaginal health impacts, microbiome research, ethics, and symptom tracking.
CLINICALLY EVALUATED PRODUCTS
Here at Lylac Health, we value product transparency. Majority of vaginal health products are unregulated and are not required to be clinically evaluated.

There is a huge gap in research and regulation in the women's health market. But this gap isn't research specific, it is also policy specific. It wasn't until 2016 that the NIH finally created the Sex As a Biological Variable Act (SABV) that required the scientific community to evaluate biological differences based on sex. However, that policy was recently archived at the beginning of 2025, making it so that the science community does not have to follow through with that policy.
So in reality, there has really only been 9 years of policy enforced inclusion in research.

Our company is aiming to fill this gap. Our goal is to expand research and to provide a framework to help women determine if a vaginal health product is safe for them.
